Your Accreditation Journey Starts Here

The process for becoming an AGNP Credentialed Notary is just that - a process. It takes time and requires effort - just like any worthwhile endeavor. If you have questions at anytime, please reach out to us for clarification or additional information. You should expect the process to take up to 4 - 6 months to complete, but the actual timeframe is up to you.

  1. Join AGNP. You must be an AGNP member to participate in the program. Dues are paid annually. The first button below takes you to the payment portal. Click on the Join AGNP Now button below. Your lifetime membership fee is established when you first join and remains the annual fee unless you fail to renew. If your membership lapses, you will be subject to the membership fee in effect at the time you reinstate.

  2. Return to this page and click on the Application Packet button. Download & Complete the Application Packet for the instructions and forms that you will be submitting to us as part of the credentialing process.

  3. Submit the completed Application Material.‍ ‍Save your documents as a single PDF file and submit it with any attachments to lori@americannotaryguild.org . Once your Application Packet has been reviewed, you will receive a unique exam, tailored to the informtion you provided in the Application Packet. Expect the review to take up to 2 - 4 weeks.

  4. Complete the Exam. The examination will be sent to you directly. The exam is unique to each candidate and the questions will be oriented to your personal notary history, practice, and goals. The exam will be sent as a Word document with a combination of short answers and essays. Once completed, save as a PDF file. The exam is not proctored, but your fundamental integrity and honesty is expected.

  5. Your Credential will be awarded when the review of your application and examination has been completed. Expect the review to take up to 4 weeks. You will receive an email notifying you of the credential you have earned. Your lapel pin, digital badge, and an AGNP ID card that you can present to verify your status as an AGNP Credentialed Notary will be sent to you shortly thereafter.

AGNP Credentialing Ceremonies are held twice a year - on June 30 and December 31 - to recognize and celebrate recently credentialed notaries. Credentialing Ceremonies are held online and family and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Please note: All questions about the process or materials should be submitted to lori@americannotaryguild.org.
