OUR MISSION…

The American Guild of Notaries Public is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality, reliability, and professionalism of America’s Notaries Public. Our mission is to ensure that AGNP Credentialed notaries consistently demonstrate the highest levels of knowledge and ethical standards on every notarial act they perform. We believe that by elevating the standards of notarial practice, through the adoption and promulgation of national standards of education, testing, and credentialing, we strengthen trust and credibility in the notarial office in the United States.

The Governing Board of the American Guild of Notaries Public establishes the highest standards of practice and ethics for notaries public throughout the United States. Further, AGNP promotes those standards to commissioning authorities, notary employers, the public at large, and notaries themselves as a means of elevating the stature of the office and ensuring the utmost level of trust in the notarial act that the office commands.
